I believe there may be a misunderstanding or disconnect regarding what is meant by the 'proximity' factor that affects the function of a bifilar coil not attached to an external energy source but within close proximity to an energy sources or transmission of energy. Tesla indicated a "proximity effect" in his musings regarding the a bifilar coil (specifically a flat plate type coil, as indicated in his patent papers). This would mean that the bifilar coil exhibited a distinct affect, which would mean some kind of output or change/effect from the bifilar coil, from being in proximity to an energy source independent of the bifilar coil itself happens. This would seem to imply that a physical connection to a power source may not be required for a bifilar coil to alter, modify, and emit an energy field, etc., though undoubtedly that subtle energy emanation would be just that, subtle, not as apparent as would result from a physically connected energy input push from an external source of energy transference. Point being, there appears to in fact be a proximity effect of a bifilar coil being in close proximity to an energy based even and that the bifilar coil in turn is affected and is involved with subtle energy dynamics, much of which is not easily put into words but has been empirically observed by many in the Radionics community, myself included, who deal with radionic analytic/transmitting instruments. Many of us utilize bifilar coil technology to one degree or another in our works, and do so with remarkable results. Here in America, one company has been researching bifilar coil plate technology as regards radionic instruments and sono (sound/tone) applications (that is largely proximity affect based) since the 1980's and have developed some impressive detector/transmitting antenna arrays and proximity effected bifilar coil technology for sound/tone therapy use that incorporate both direct powering of the bifilar coil plates and in-proximity utilization of bifilar plates for their intended use and affects Hope this better clarifies what I meant by the 'proximity affect' regarding Tesla bifilar coils versus physical contact powering/energizing of bifilar coils..
